Dermapen® Microneedling
The Dermapen® is an automated micro-needling device with a disposable tip cartridge that is made up of 12 micro-needles, which uses proprietary technology to penetrate vertically into the skin. The stamping action of the Dermapen’s® vertical tip creates invisible micro-channels to the skin, while stimulating the skin’s natural ability to heal itself and increase the production of new collagen. In doing so, these micro-channels encourage and harness the body’s innate ability to regrow and repair the skin through normal physiological processes and the skin becomes rejuvenated and refreshed.
The Dermapen® is also effective for the following: Acne Scars, Burns, Alopecia, Scar revision/Keloids, Stretch marks, Texture and Pore size, Hyperpigmentation, and Tone/Texture.
Microneedling leads to reorganization of collagen fibers and laying down of new collagen, elastin and capillaries leading to the effect of skin tightening. A significant increase in levels of collagen type I, III and IV, newly synthesized collagen and tropoelastin from baseline was observed after 6 microneedling sessions at 2 week intervals. This leads to an overall reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, reducing pore size, increased suppleness and elasticity.

Can Dermapen® for Acne Scars be Effective?

Does the Dermapen® Tighten Skin?
Microneedling really helps acne scars. The process promotes the growth of new collagen in your skin, encouraging your skin to heal itself, reducing the appearance of ice pick, boxcar, and rolling acne scars.
Some studies have also noted that the effects of skin needling on acne scars are even better when the treatments are combined with vitamin C or PRP. Unlike other minimally invasive skin corrective treatments, such as laser therapy, microneedling is considered safe for darker skin tones. This is because it doesn’t damage or remove the outer layer of skin.
Microneedling is also considered safe for thin and sensitive skin as well.
Can the Appearance of Fine Lines and Wrinkles be Reduced by Using the Dermapen®?
